CURE was founded by Kenneth Warren, Riley Casagrande and Elspeth Collard in 2017. While attending a student leadership program in India, Kenneth encountered a girl and her impoverished family. Everyday, the girl would be late for her morning classes because she was fetching polluted water for her brother and mother to drink.
That moment inspired Kenneth, Riley and Elspeth to develop a solution to help the poor little girl in some way. A team of environmentally conscious high school students joined together to create a culture of sustainability in their city and the world at large. The team researched the key ways to do this -- LED lighting, refillable water bottle stations, composting and recycling. CURE continues to grow and is now in a partnership with its local school system.
